Thee Green Juice Cafe in Washington Heights

Something about Uptown gives me assurance that I’ll get what I want and it’ll not only taste good but it’ll be cheap too.

So I ended up in Washington Heights and really was in the mood for a green juice and a simple muffin. I put my cravings on Yelp and this place was closest to me. It’s a small juice shop located on Broadway by 184th; known for their sandwiches, great hospitality by the owners (a great sense of remembering people and their orders), some of the cheapest juice prices I’ve ever seen, and honestly a pretty damn good sandwich and muffin.

So I ordered:

  • Toasty pesto sandwich (fresh pesto, fresh mozzarella, tomato, spinach)

  • Banana nut muffin toasted with butter

  • Hint of mint - green juice (blueberries, cucumber, spinach, celery, mint, kale)

The green juice was $8 for a large …unheard of. Wasn’t a bad green juice either. I mean how can you truly mess that up? The muffin was amazing. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. But not the mushy soft, not the “this is too much butter” soft. It was perfect and it tasted fresh. No staleness to it. The sandwich though….I. SAID. WOW! That’s all I can say is wow! I thought the spinach ratio was quite high compared to the other ingredients but it was all so perfect. After eating it I wanted to order another, but I said CHILL! However, I won’t lie, the next time I’m in Washington Heights I’m headed straight there.
