Family Reunion Time at the Backyard BBQ!

I’m not a big BBQ person because I’m a flexitarian (they made up a word for me I feel seen!). However, a BBQ isn’t a bbq without the sides and/or the seafood. With that said, I don’t always exclude BBQ spots from my list of places to try and this place here, Chile, delicious!

So backyard BBQ is located on the Nautical Mile in Freeport, Long Island. It’s a small casual spot tucked in between other restaurants (including their second opening spot where they’re going to be specializing in PIZZA!) I literally have had NOTHING here that has disappointed me. I personally know the owners and that alone warms my heart. As a neighborhood friend, all I can do is support. But ya’ll know I’m honest as hell, and I had to tell them that nothing makes me happier than trying their food and telling myself I will come back. We ain’t faking over here when it comes to these tastebuds.

I’ve been here about 3x and my must haves are: three cheese and collard greens empanadas, fried shrimp, Mac and cheese, and wings (again a flexitarian so mind your business). They also have drinks and your infamous iced tea and kool-aid. Affordable, good service, and to the point. Always consistent and always a good time! Shoutouts to Kenny and Mike Tone!
