Harlem Keeps Me On The Edge

Corny title but that’s none of your concern! What you should care about is the food I had at this place!
Here at The Edge Harlem, Caribbean flavors and dishes meet the American cuisine. This location is so perfect. Right at the edge of Edgecombe Avenue and 139th Street, you’ll quickly find this cozy and rustic restaurant reminding you of the Harlem Renaissance and all of Harlem’s culture.
Since I’m greedy, I ordered everything that I felt my stomach could handle. I had the open-faced fried egg sandwich and opted into the “3 for $12 sides”: festival, sweet plantains, parmesan cheesy grits. Yes, I ate it all…KNOW ME! I was reserved at first because everyone can’t whip grits up. As a southern belle I’m very particular and judgy when it comes to grits. I’ll grade them an A-, trust me …that’s good.
Everything else was equally tasteful as well. I think I admired the ambience more than anything. I’m a sucker for a place that makes me feel like I belong. This place was very cozy, a local attraction, and the service was just right. I didn’t feel rushed and I didn’t feel ignored. The chai latte was done right and with coconut milk (had to add that for my coffee lovers). Come here to mingle, to get some work done, for a date, and of course if you’re hungry.
The prices were reasonable. Even if they weren’t, the food was definitely worth it. I’ll for surely come back. I want to tackle their dinner menu and indulge in their cocktails. Harlem is such a vibe. It makes me so happy.
