Lobster Paid With Colones!
So I went to Costa Rica with 20 people. Emphasis on the TWENTY! We decided to have the birthday dinner (the trip was for two birthday queens) on the beach at La Palapa Seafood & Grill.
Now let me tell you just a tiny bit about Costa Rica. This is my second time on this beautiful island and I honestly don’t have anything bad to say about it. Costa Rica is for people who need to really enjoy life, relax, and have a great time. The food there is always mind blowing. The flavors and the seasonings! I know I don’t eat meat in the US but their chicken is knocking Jamaica’s KFC out the park! There’s this one chicken spot with French Fries that’ll send you to heaven with just $3, but I’m digressing. Costa Rica can be costly. Their currency (colones) changes in rate by day and by location. Sounds sus to me! They never want to take their own money, at least not all the tourist places. You pay in American dollars though and they’ll give you colones back. My suggestion, pay in credit card or pay in their money. 😉
ANYWAY, back to dinner on the beach. The food was great and fulfilling. I’m talking very full plates of food. The vibe was nice we felt a little secluded from the rest of the restaurant. We preferred it this way being that it was 20 loud New Yorkers. Another thing in Costa Rica that I am VERY happy with is that they are comfortable with splitting bills. I mean they ask this in the beginning with no problem, no attitude, and no screwed up faces. Makes things pretty easy. Me and another friend had split the seafood combo for two. Fried snapper, shrimp, mussels, lobster and two sides. We both had appetizers and drinks. Our bill was $160 INCLUDING gratuity. So I’d say…we did pretty good!
I would definitely come back here. The menu was enticing but I tried not to let my eyes be bigger than my stomach. It’s quite easy to get to that point.
They told me this was an appetizer I almost lost it 😩
